The Bible says God annointed Jesus with the Holy Spirit and with power, and He went around doing good and healing everyone who was under the power of the devil, because God was with Him [Acts 10:38]. After he rose from the dead, Jesus gave His followers one last command before God took Him back up to Heaven,
Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well. [Mark 16:15-18]
His followers went out and did just that. Today, we continue to do what Jesus told us to do, and will continue to tell everyone the Good News that Jesus is alive, and He has given us power over all sin and death!
