Pastor Winston was born in Kansas City. He grew up on 27th street. When he was 12, his dad got saved and their family was never the same. His Father became Pastor of Blue Hills Community Church of the Nazarene, and Winston became deeply involved in the work of the church, teaching Adult Sunday School as a teenager, playing the drums and organ, cleaning, and assisting members. As an adult, he earned a Bachelors and Masters degrees in Business, and then moved to Chicago where he worked in sales & marketing for fortune 500 companies. He was also active in the church music scene. While he stayed in church, he did not live close to the Lord until Pastor Eaddy from Harvest Church told him that God said he was to preach on a particular day. He felt entirely inadequate, and upon the advice of his dad, spent several days in consecration. While he was alone in his apartment, God met him there on the floor where he received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. In 2010, he returned to Kansas City to work in ministry with his dad. During this time, he met his wife, Esther, and they began ministry together, serving under his dad whose health was failing. When his dad passed away in 2015, he became senior pastor of Blue Hills Community Church of the Nazarene. In 2022, he recast the vision on which the church was founded, to reach out to those who do not know the amazing, transforming power of Jesus Christ, and to provide a process by which every person can become the person God envisioned when they were created. Part of recasting the vision included changing the name to Consuming Fire Ministries, and reorganizing LIFT, a partner non-profit which assists families and individuals to reach their full purpose.
